ABOUT KYLE VERMEULEN

I understand the work that comes with running a business.

Kyle Vermeulen, founder of Cedarhelm Systems.

I’m Kyle Vermeulen, founder of Cedarhelm Systems. I’ve worked in technology and software sales, business development, sales leadership and hands-on operations.

My wife, Rachael, and I founded A Little Extra Love Ministries, which I still help run. I also helped develop its Inclusive Pathways program.

I’ve also helped business owners improve estimates, proposals, invoicing, scheduling and customer communication. Cedarhelm brings that experience together to help owners make the daily work easier to manage.

My background in business and operations.

Growing up around business

I come from a family of entrepreneurs. I grew up seeing how much owners put into their businesses and how hard it can be to leave the work at work.

Sales and leadership

Technology and software sales taught me to ask questions, understand a customer’s business and follow through. Leading sales teams also meant helping people manage opportunities and use a process they could rely on.

Systems and implementation

I’ve built automations and improved everyday processes across sales and operations. That work has to fit the way people actually do their jobs. I help build and test the solution, then show the people using it how it works.

Rachael and I built A Little Extra Love from the ground up.

A Little Extra Love Ministries supports families affected by disability with community, practical resources and programs shaped by our experience as parents.

I helped develop Inclusive Pathways, A Little Extra Love’s program for equipping churches to build disability ministries. The program includes assessment, planning, training and implementation support.

As our work grew, we needed to know who was waiting for a response, what had been promised and who was responsible for following through.

Start with how the work gets done.

“Before I recommend another tool, I want to understand how you’re using the ones you already have.”

How I use AI and automation

I’ve used ChatGPT since its public launch in November 2022 for research, communication, business workflows and system development.

AI can help prepare a draft or organize information. Automation can move details between tools or send an approved reminder. Other problems need a clearer process or a better template.

I choose tools based on what the work requires. Before I use an AI tool with your business or customer information, we review its data practices. We agree on what information the tool may receive, how that information will be used and which tasks need a person’s review.

I ask you to walk me through the task from start to finish. We look at the tools involved, who needs the information next and where the work slows down.

From there, we agree on what to improve and what the project includes. I help build and test the changes, document the process and show the people involved how to use it.

The business matters. So does the life it supports.

For me, that life includes Rachael and our three children. I want to build something worthwhile and be there for them.

Your reason for starting a business may be different. You might want independence, meaningful work or more control over your schedule. I want to understand what matters to you and help reduce the work that keeps pulling you away from it.

You’ll work directly with me.

I run Cedarhelm myself, and you’ll work directly with me on your priorities and the agreed project. If someone else helps with implementation or support, you’ll know who is doing the work, and I’ll stay involved.

Tell me which part of running the business you would like to make easier. We’ll talk about whether I can help and what a useful first project could look like.
